WHO WE ARE
    The Marion County Humane Society  (MCHS) is a Non-Profit
    501(c)3 "No-Kill" animal welfare organization. We provide
    animal welfare for the geographical region of Marion County,
    located in the beautiful hills of WV.  MCHS serves over
    56,000 residents and provides quality care for more than
    50,000 animals in our region. MCHS operates a shelter
    located on Rt. 19 S past Westchester towards Monongah,
    WV.  Physical address is 2731 Locust Avenue Fairmont,
    WV 26554; mailing address P.O. Box 905 Fairmont, WV
    26554.

SERVICES
    MCHS provides and oversees the following services for
    Marion County residents:
    -Handling Owner Surrenders as capacity allows
    -Spay/Neuter Assistance
    -Providing Center for Adopting Animals
    -Advocate for Marion County Animals and Residents
    -Guidance for Animal Legislation
    -Providing community service hours for students
    -Providing the opportunity for hands-on experience (under
    professional supervision) for veterinary students

MISSION STATEMENT
    Advocate for animals that reside within Marion Country
    through Community involvement, Awareness, Rehoming, and
    Education (C.A.R.E)

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
(1) Enhance the quality of community life within Marion County by
sponsoring community events and programs (2) Foster
relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community
members that enhance the lives of the animals and residents of
Marion County

AWARENESS
Build awareness of the issues that impact the animals within
Marion County

REHOMING
Provide a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment at our
facility, a foster home, an approved rescue, or a shelter partner for
previously homeless or surrendered animals within Marion County
that are awaiting placement in a responsible forever home.

EDUCATION
Encourage responsible pet ownerships and animal safety through
educational initiatives and community seminars offered to the
residents within Marion County

    Under the supervision and guidance of the
    Pierpont Community & Technical College

    Coordinator, the Veterinary Technician works
    under a licensed veterinarian in assisting with
    animal health care.
