    The Marion County Humane Society
    is a Non-Profit 501(c)3 "No-Kill" animal
    welfare organization in the region of
    Marion County, located in the beautiful
    hills of West Virginia.  MCHSWV serves
    over 56,000 residents and provides
    quality care for more than 50,000 animals.
    MCHS operates a shelter located on
    Rt. 19 S past Westchester towards
    Monongah, WV.

 SERVICES
    MCHS provides and oversees the following services for Marion County
    residents:
  • Handling Owner Surrenders as capacity allows
  • Spay/Neuter Assistance
  • Providing Center for Adopting Animals
  • Advocate for Marion County Animals and Residents
  • Guidance for Animal Legislation
  • Providing community service hours for students
  • Providing the opportunity for hands-on experience (under professional
    supervision) for veterinary students

 
    MISSION STATEMENT
    Advocate for animals that reside within Marion Country through
    Community involvement, Awareness, Rehoming, and Education (C.
    A.R.E)

  • COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
    (1) Enhance the quality of community life within Marion County
    by   sponsoring community events and programs
    (2) Foster relationships with local businesses, organizations,
    and community members that enhance the lives of the animals
    and residents of Marion County

  • AWARENESS
    Build awareness of the issues that impact the animals within Marion
    County

  • REHOMING
    Provide a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment at our facility, a
    foster home, an approved rescue, or a shelter partner for previously
    homeless or surrendered animals within Marion County that are awaiting
    placement in a responsible forever home.

  • EDUCATION
    Encourage responsible pet ownerships and animal safety through
    educational initiatives and community seminars offered to the residents
    within Marion County
